Hi! I've been lurking for a few days, and finally decided to join this group of awesome people. I've found a ton of helpful information so far.
So...a little bit about myself:
I'm a stay at home mom to two really cool kids. I'm not sure where I find the time to take care of them with my nose always buried in a book. Somehow I manage. I used to write short stories and poetry as a hobby over the years, but thought of it as only a hobby. The dreams of ever publishing my work just seemed too far fetched. Only recently, after reading so many outstanding works from self published authors, I realized "hey, I can do this". I've currently been working on my first book, which I hope to finish by June. It's been an exciting, and sometimes frightening experience. I'm happy to have found a group that can answer questions and offer insight along the way.
