Ayup, St. Patrick's Day doth loom before us so in honor of the drinker's most sacred holiday I'm posting this little tidbit and challenge. Give us a tale of greed and wealth promised, but repaid with woe.
It doesn't have to be Leprechauns. It doesn't have to be gory. It doesn't have to be material wealth. Give us a story about how greed corrupts or wealth corrupts or power corrupts or wishes fulfilled ultimately destroy.
Don't just rewrite The Monkey's Paw or the (terrible) movies (Leprechaun, Leprechaun In Space, etc.), but give us an original tale showing how the dream of wealth, fulfilled, can lead to devastating consequences for the dreamer.
A PowerBall winner losing everything just won't do it. Give us something showing real horror too.
