Arctic vs arctic

For anyone insisting it should be Arctic with a capital A, keep this in mind:

It's in the dictionary as arctic, no capital.

Next entry (in mine) is Arctic Circle.

Agree.
Use lowercase when using it as an adjective to describe cold weather.
Otherwise Arctic or Arctic Circle when you refer to region or actual circle.

It would be mighty strange weather if you felt an Arctic wind in Patagonia, but winds from the Antarctic affect the weather there.
