Yeah. I think they are also going to talk about Gaikai - and the potential for streaming the PS3 games as a means of backwards compatibility. Although I am very concerned about the rumours about not being able to play the game without a live connection and that no-secondhand bullcrap. Hopefully we see none of that on the 20th.

Rumors are flying high and I'm counting the hours. Other than the no-backwards compatibility, I think the PS3 is a very solid system. I hope they're able to keep it up.

PS4 unveiled today...sort of. More like teased. But, with an 8-core processor, it looks potentially to be a beast, even compared to most gaming PCs.

I'm interested to see its full reveal at E3 this summer.

The first new PlayStation in seven years was promoted by Sony as being like a “supercharged PC.” It has a souped-up eight-core processor to juggle more complex tasks simultaneously, enhanced graphics, the ability to play games even as they are being downloaded, and a new controller designed in tandem with a stereo camera that can sense the depth of the environment in front of it.

Backwards compatibility only through streaming is a kick in the teeth for (1) those of us with a good PS3 library already and (2) without a decent broadband connection.

Everything in the whole world seems to be going streaming crazy, but there are vast swathes of us out there who struggle to maintain 1mbps thanks to shitty infrastructure.

Imagine those of us still stuck on dial up for internet at home. I got no streaming.

I'm really disappointed that it's not backwards compatible for the PS3.

(Heck, I'm still grumpy that they took PS2 backwards compatibility away from the PS3.)

Really looking forward to the full reveal. Sounds interesting, I must admit but I really want to know more, including the price.

I'd expect the next gen Xbox to be revealed in the coming months too. The reason I opted for the 360 over the PS3 was that it was considerably cheaper at the time, so I'll be comparing the two consoles when a lot more details are out to see what is better value for money.

Very unexciting.

A shooty game, a drivey game, a game with a robot in it. David Cage shows us an old man blinking at us. Media Molecule show us something lovely, but with last-gen technology. And everything looks about as good as PC games do now. Also, everything is slathered in social media and they really, really could do with somebody buying a Vita at some point.

Me too! I was so gutted when my fat PS3 died (for the fourth or fifth time). I couldn't be arsed with getting another refurb and had to give in and get a super slim.
