You have a habit of misrepresenting what is said to you. You've just done it again.

Old Hack did not say "don't reply to people unless they are saying something nice."

She asked you to use the report post button. That's not "reporting" a person, it's drawing attention to a post that is problematic or that you feel is particularly good and deserves attention, and possibly being stickied, etc.

This is a privately owned site; it doesn't matter what you believe about freedom of speech since it doesn't apply. The basic principles laid out by Old Hack in the stickies for this forum, and in the Newbie's Guide are exceedingly simple, despite your apparent difficulties in following and or understanding them.

Stop being passive aggressive. It grows tiring. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

AW Admin - Once again, I'm sorry. No, I didn't know it belonged in a PM.

I promise you, I had no ulterior motives; I didn't say "don't reply to people unless they are saying something nice" were OH's words. That's simply my own perception from reading all the interaction on here.

I truly didn't understand that the report button was used in such a broad manner.

I will remember in the future that freedom of speech does not apply here.

I have never been called "passive aggresive" in my 68 years and have a hunch the people that know me would have a real chuckle over that one. I do say what I mean as much as I feel I dare in this forum. Also sorry that my comments have grown tiring to you or to anyone else and I will be more careful to moniter myself better in the future.

It was never my intention to breach the basic principles laid out by Old Hack in the stickies for this forum, and once again I offer my apologies to one and all that I have offended in any regard.

I have tried to be as helpful, encouraging and supportive as possible and am thankful for all that I have learned and the friendships I have made.

I have good news regarding the DRM issue. I spent some time on the phone today with Amazon's customer service. After determining everything was good with my account, my wireless service, etc., the young man I spoke with had me reset my Kindle to factory defaults. I re-registered it, did the whole nine yards as if I had just purchased it. Yahoo...it worked. Apparently, there was something amiss in the Kindle device.

I had purchased 14 ebooks and was only able to open 5 of them. Now I can open all 14. Thanks to all of you for your comments and suggestions.

@Sarah Dalton - 'The Blemished' will be the first one I'll read when I can get some time (I think in a couple of weeks). Your sample hooked me, you know.

PS - The young man that helped me was courteous, friendly and professional. I give my experience 5-stars.
