Google Books worth it?

The only experience I have with google-books is that it helped me to find an obscure book I could not find through Amazon or other major retailers. They had a link to a third-party site specializing in the type of book I had searched, and I was able to order my book that way.

Before that though, I hadn't even realized it was a thing. So, take my experience as you will.

I've tried uploading a few of my books to Google. The experience was confusing; I'm not certain that anything happened.

From time to time I get emails from them asking me to set prices in other territories, but ... if there have been any sales at all, I don't know about them.

I got a cheque from them for $1.97 a few months ago. Couldn't for the life of me figure out why, as it's been about six years since I uploaded a book (and I had forgotten all about it.)
