"MFA Archipelago" was HapiSofi's term, and (I suspect) is an allusion to The Gulag Archipelago (the book by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn about the Soviet prison camps). I don't believe she meant MLM (with its unfortunate acronym) is put out by MFAs or associated with a university, but rather that it's the sort of place where MFAs are confined.
Ahhh. I like it! Hope she doesn't mind me adopting it! :)

And I agree about that weird wording "You are not self-published," as if that would be a worse mistake.

It's good to know that "Accepted works are respected" instead of the opposite.

Weird. I got an email from them today saying my poem was going to be published in their next issue and I had 48 hours to respond if I wanted it removed. And it was a donotreply address. *sigh* I used their contact form to ask for it removed. (Please note that I had no other contact with them, no contract, no original acceptance letter, etc. etc.)

Funny thing is, I don't remember submitting anything to them. Their website doesn't look familiar, I don't have them listed as one of the places I subbed to, and I have no record of emailing them. Plus, I always check AW to make sure the magazine is legit (and I would've been scared away by this thread), so I have no idea what happened. But the piece they had listed was legit, so I guess I submitted a while ago and forgot about it? *shrug*

Anyway, it's just a poem I wrote years ago, so, although I want it removed, I don't care enough to really pursue anything. Just thought I should add this in to the thread, though.

EDIT: Never mind. They got back to me within a few minutes to remove it. So that was nice. :)
