I'm Bilingual. English as a first language, French as a second. I can help with translations, meanings, colloquialisms, spelling, and grammar in French, if anyone ever needs it.
Cheers! ETA: I should have also probably mentioned that I'm in Canada, so I'm familiar with both Canadian French and International French (which is what I learned at school). Last edited by DidiBlue; 04-30-2012 at 06:04 PM. |

-Working in a library
-Working for the U.S. government -Biology, esp. in a university/lab setting -Marching band (and really, playing music in general) -The U.S. military in general, esp. the Army -International penpals -Switzerland -Softball -Baton twirling -How the human body works, esp. muscles, and how exercise affects the body -Living in the American South -Social anxiety and panic attacks Last year our area experienced an EF5 tornado which leveled a lot of the area where I grew up. If you want any firsthand experience about what it's like to live through a tornado, and especially its aftermath (there was no electricity anywhere for at least 5 days; my town became a different world) I'm your girl. My husband is a lifelong caver and a member of our local cave rescue squad. Anything you need to know about caves, from exploration to ecology (including bats) to how to transport and injured person out of a cave, I've got it. When I was in college, I was in a class with a professor who shot six of our faculty and killed three of them on the third floor of my campus building. One of my professors was among the them. My faculty advisor was also shot, but survived. (I was not present at the shooting.) If you're looking for any kind of insight into that sort of experience, PM me. 1.Music A. Creating music I can offer insite on the proper construction of music regardless if it's audio or lyrically constructed. B. The business I have some knowledge on how the music scene works. If I don't know the answer to the question I can find someone that does. 2.Prison I can give you information from the point of view of an corrections officer. Keep in mind there is somethings I can't talk about but will help you none the less. 3.wine barrel and whyskey barrel making 4.music trivia not sure how this will help anyone but hey you never know these days. 5. drawing I can draw fairly decent with the medium pencil. 6.very resourseful in finding things online This was a little bit more difficult to think upa knowledge list for anyone. If I think up anything else I will just edit this list and add them. Thanks iron man |

Feel free to contact me regarding:
- General petkeeping, including dogs, cats, ferrets, rats, and corn snakes. - Dog training, including clicker work, positive reinforcement techniques, use of a "choke" chain or prong type collar, house and crate training, etc. I was a pro trainer (for a large pet supply chain as well as a successful freelancer) for 5+ years. - Exotic dancing, both topless and fully nude, which I did in the state of South Carolina for 5+ years starting at age 18. I am very knowledgeable on the laws governing that industry as they were from the late 1990s-mid 2000s, and I doubt they have changed much. I can also give realistic detail on a variety of patron archetypes, as well as dressing room "politics". - Modern cloth diapering and babywearing. I did both with my now 3 y/o Daughter. Both "worlds" can be pretty daunting with the terminology and different styles of items for different purposes, and I can give you a comprehensive primer on topics. - Drug free labor. I gave birth in a hospital and wanted to go completely drug free. I made it through 33 hours without so much as IV fluid, but gave in and got an epidural so that I could get some rest and have the energy to do the pushing when it came time for delivery. She was born 3 hours later. I didn't quite make it, but I do have some experience and knowledge on the subject. - Raising a girl from birth-age 3. Of course I know that I am not ever going to be anything remotely resembling an expert in this field, but thought it may be helpful for someone who is writing about but has no experience with little girls. As for first days/hospital stay after birth, I might not be the best source, as she was kept in the NICU for 4 nights for a bit a fluid in the lungs while I was discharged after 2. I was devastated that my body did not produce nearly enough to breastfeed, so I unfortunately can tell you all about formula feeding. We have come this far with no-hitting (popping hands, spanking, etc.) and no cry-it-out philosophies, and have experience with alternate techniques for discipline and sleep training. Neither we nor our Daughter prefer co-sleeping, so I'm no help there. We had an easy go of potty training, and were day diaper free by age 2.5, with diapers being completely out of our lives by age 3.

OK... I sort of feel like I'm writing a CV...
(But only because that's the gear my brain has to be in - this is not nearly as stressful!) SO... this is the stuff I know about... - Scuba diving (300+ dives, mostly Caribbean) - Living/travelling in Central America (but 5yrs ago) - ECUADOR - living/travelling/culture/anything you need (I live there) - General backpacking (on and off, 10 years) / working in hostels / general rootless-ness - Growing up abroad. 4 pretty interesting countries, most random being Yemen, which is a niche market for sure!! - About 40 coutries at least travelled to (in total) - not going to list them, but try me, you never know, and it's no problem!! - Latin American Spanish to English Translation (sometimes other way round too if I'm lucky!) Hoping I can update this soon when I think something else! |

I don't know much, but I know a little.
- Played the flute and piccolo for seventeen years. - Southern born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. - Greek mythology - Egyptian mythology - psychic abilities; women in my family claim to have some. - tarot cards, runes, and auras. - step families; I have two different ones. One is a stepfather with older sons, and a stepmother with younger sons and daughters. - Child abuse, emotional and psychologically, as a survivor. - Child molestation, as a survivor. - Bullying, as both a bully and a victim. - Cutting, for attention - Suicide attempts, personal experience. - Roman Catholic all my life. - Life in the carnival circuit. - Video games. - History, especially the Roman and Greek civilizations I have a weird obsession with the royals of any country, present or past. I can list all known mistresses of any given French, English, or Russian ruler at any point, and I know most of the crown jewels and jewelry worn by English, French, and Russian monarchs. |

Psychology
Marriage and Family Therapy - especially with children Sexual assault Domestic Violence Childhood trauma The difference between OCD and OCPD Japan Why these? My degrees are in Psych and MFT. I worked primarily with children and their families. I worked at a SA/DV crisis response center while getting my degree. The OCD/OCPD thing is just a huge pet peeve of mine, and I'm always willing to educate about the differences. ![]() I minored in Asian Studies with a focus on Japan, but I've only spent 10 days actually there. Still I know a lot about the culture and language, should anyone have questions. |

I'd be happy to help as much as I can with any of the following subjects:
- German language (native speaker) and culture/places (I know the north and east much better than the south and west, but I'll try to help with any question) - traveling in Europe (I've done a fair amount in my life; particularly to the Netherlands) - congenital limb differences (have a minor hand difference myself, know several people who were born one-handed and have done a ton of reading) - synesthesia (have it myself, most graphemic and sound-color) - cultural anthropology (I have an MA in it) - my thesis was about James Cook's voyages and the Enlightenment - (English) linguistics (another MA) - I have had archery and canoeing lessons (but no huge amounts of experience/expertise) - geocaching (not an expert but we go every now and then) Feel free to PM me with any questions! |

Bilingual French/English (although I see I'm not the only one).
Teaching high school. The California public school system, getting credentialed, how high schools work, etc. Also, how high schoolers act, esp. at-risk high schoolers (a majority of my kids are on probation/have been expelled). Of course, this is from an adult perspective, but I do have a good relationship with most of them so I believe I understand how many of them think. ![]() The history of:

Note that I dabble in many things, few of them relevant to anything.
1. Being a teenager 2. Firearms and militaria, though as an air softer and not a shooter. 3. Supercars, and automobiles in general, though not intricately. 4. Futuristic weaponry- rail guns, lasers, plasma, etc. 5. Ceramics and metallurgy/chemistry 6. One-design sailboat racing, esp. Lightning-class. |

I worked as a costumer in professional theatre for 25 years. While costuming was my specialty, I know quite a bit about theatre in general. I can also handle sewing and design questions, as well as info about textiles, like fiber content, what's most flamable, how certain fabrics burn and what they smell like, etc.
I now work with at risk kids that are stuck in the system.
