I am just starting to look into ebook creation and would like to get some opinions on software for my specific needs.

I want to make my course syllabus into an ebook. The syllabus is about 125 pages in length and contains text, diagrams and images. I would like to include linking to specific sites and other references, as well as be able to either link or embed video into the ebook.

I want to make this ebook available to students within the course and am not concerned with payment from my enrolled students.

Unfortunately, my students have all sorts of devices to access ebooks with, so I can't really say that I will need to publish for one device.

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding software I should be looking at? Thanks for any help or guidance that anyone can provide.

I'd go with .pdf. It's the simplest, and there are ways to read it for free on pretty much all computers, as well as Kindle, Nook and iOS.

Keep in mind the video and color images won't fare well on Kindle or Nook.

The other alternative is to turn it into a Web site using WordPress or another CMS/blogging system.

Personally, I'd go with this option, as an educator accustomed to teaching with technology.

PDF version

I will take a look into creating the syllabus into a pdf document once I get all the pages together as a single document. I will also take a look into using Wordpress as well.

Thanks for the suggestions.
