Welcome to the water cooler!
Disk golf? I thought it was called "frolf" :) Our 21-year-old got me to buy some disks. I went out a couple times. It's only slightly less frustrating than golf because the disks are usually easier to find :)

'Til your last gold dollar is gone.
Thanks for the warm welcome folks.

So many fellow Texans, but I suppose that's to be expected with the size of the state and all.

Nice to see a fellow transplanted Floridian. Whereabouts in N. Florida? I lived in Jax for years, but was raised in Green Cove Springs (10pts if you've ever even heard of it).

Green Cove Springs? I can still hear the car dealer jingle running in my head. "Green Cove Springs is little Dee-troit." :)

I grew up in Jax too (we were a Navy family, moved from RI), on the Westside. I lived in Gainesville a long time before I moved to Texas.

You're telling me. I think winter's cancelled for Central Texas this year.

I think it's just last summer keeping on, but with rain. 30 to 40 above what it should be. I live in the sticks of the sticks of Coryell county-- so dry out here last summer you were afraid a bit of glass in the grass would start a fire.

Welcome from yet another Texas hill country transplant, formerly from Denver. I'm north of all y'all (how's that for Texas slang...? ;) ) in Brady...the Heart of Texas!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

I love capybaras (and their small cousins the guinea pigs), beer, and horror. We should get along fine. Good luck and congrats for coming out of the writing closet!

They finally settled on "Disc Golf" as the official moniker. There's a pro league, a pro tour, and a players association and all that good stuff now. That being said, I couldn't throw par if my life depended on it. For me it's just about the fun, the sunshine, and the exercise.

Lol! I haven't thought of those radio spots in years. My first new vehicle (a '94 Ford Ranger) was bought at Garber Ford. I noticed the last time I visited home that all the separate dealers have been bought out and it's one big "Auto mall" now.

Hope you're getting this cold front as well. It's actually too cool to wear shorts today. It does sound like there are enough of us for a get together.

>> Kimber
Hmm. Were we separated at birth? If I could just figure out a way to combine the three. Maybe start labeling the ol' home brew as the "Bloody Capybara Brewery".

See, see another one--all of us from the hill country need to figure out a central location and do a cici's pizza thing or something.
