Mods, if this is the wrong place to ask, please feel free to relocate to the correct forum.

As the title notes, I need to know if I can send an email with Word or RTF attachment and have it read on an e-reader?

If so, do I have to do anything special in formatting the file or attachment?

Thank you all, in advance...

If you have a Kindle, then Amazon gave you an email address that they use to send you your purchased books. You can also email yourself documents too, though I believe the formats they accept are a bit restrictive. I remember being able to send a PDF to a friend's Kindle once, and of course a mobi, but nothing else.

If you have a Nook or other device, you'd have to check with whomever you purchase your books from to see if that can be done.

Note that you'll have to have another app installed that can handle Word or .rtf files to actually edit them. But you'll be able to view any MS Office format or text file no problem on an iPad or iPhone straight from the email client.
