Yesterday I got a rejection from a publisher on a partial that they had requested last year...this is after I emailed them in January to let them know it was no longer available...and five months after the book has already been published and earning me royalties.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a rejection pop up from 'beyond the grave' so to speak. Longest I've heard from another author friend was a request for a partial three years after she sent the query to an agent. :p

One of my writer friends just received a rejection on an agented submission from two years ago. :-( That blows my mind.

Boy, they're really on the ball, LOL. Happy to hear you got your book published and that it's doing well. This particular scenario hasn't happened to me, but I did send out lots of queries for my now published novel, so now you got me wondering if it will :)

That's hilarious.

It's too bad it wasn't a request; you could have sent them the book. "Here ya go, requested materials!"

Cheering you all on!
I once got a request from a query I sent almost exactly a year before.

I have a full out there that's 14 months old. I had actually forgotten about it until the agency's thread popped up in my subscribed threads and I had to remember why I had subscribed, lol

Last week I received a snail mail rejection from an agent on an 18-month-old query. Guess she didn't want my stamp to go to waste.

I have 2 fulls out to agents that are 2 years old now....

I had an e-rejection on an 18 month old query, and a request for a partial after about 14 months once.
