This idea came to me yesterday. It may be an old one, in which case I shall do this.

I was imagining a situation where an author has a book that was currently only available in an electronic format, which was selling very well. The publisher has arranged a book signing, at a convention, say, for fans to meet the author.
I was thinking that one option for personalising the book could be to have a camera set up, and for the author to ask the fan who they would like the book signed for. The author would then speak a signature message into the camera.
The message could be recorded and given to the fan there and then, attached to a copy of the eBook, perhaps. For "pre-signed" eBooks, there could be a more generic message recorded and attached to them.
If authors are willing to do this, it seemed like a nice way to personalise an eBook for a fan. If you were the author, would you be willing to do it? Or is this perhaps not practical, at the moment?
