Hello Everyone.
My name's Jenny, I'm 17 and I like writing little stories, just for fun :)
I made an account on here a few days ago and have just found the courage to post! This site kept coming up in Google searches when I did research for my stories :)
I don't think I'll be posting any of my own work for a while but I might try asking some research questions when I figure out where to ask them :p

Jenny, nobody is going to expect you to post your work here, ever, so that fear is not even on the table. Whew, huh?

And you may well find that once you're comfortable here, and realize the site has so many good people who are also good writers, the thought of posting your work is not nearly as scary as it seems today.

I'm 51, a grandfather and two of my daughters are older than you. I absolutely despise political correctness yet found myself hesitating to respond to your thread for fear of being labeled a dirty old man :( indoctrination is an insidious thing isn’t it?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Welcome Jenny! Watch out - it's those "little stories" written for the fun of it that begin the addiction to writing. ;)

Hello and welcome and don't worry. Maryn is right -- you never have to post your writing (lucky for me, says the visual artist ... ). And yes, this place is just fabulous for research. There are plenty of people your age around, a few younger, some like me old enough to be your mum, and on up. Don't worry about asking questions -- politeness is vigorously enforced by MacAllister the supermod and the other moderators.

Welcome! :e2bear::e2bear: This place is a great community. So don't fear, ask any question you need, chat and hang out. There are some really nice, helpful people here (many of whom happen to be quite talented writers). I am pretty new too and haven't yet shared any writing. But after being here even for a little while, I kind of want to. It's nice that way. :)
