Hey guys!
I'm on the hunt for a CP...obviously, right? Why else would I call the thread "YA Fantasy CP"? Hmmm.
Anyway. I'm looking for someone I can work with for a long time, not just on this novel. Someone who will tell me what's wrong with my work honestly, but not like a screaming banshee. Someone who will exchange word count goals with me every day. Someone I can be friends with and hopefully chat with on Skype a lot.
But what do I write, and what am I looking to read from you? Well, I write mostly YA fantasy. I read a pretty fair combination of fantasy and contemporary (I can be carrying around Maggie Stiefvater one day and Sarah Dessen the next).
The novels I write now are pretty dark. I go into my outline asking myself "How can I make life suck even more for my protagonists?" and "How can I make life better for the antagonist?".
This very second I'm working on wrapping up (like 10 scenes to go) my second novel, Weeping, which is about a pretty evil circus. Kind of a reverse Swan Lake. Lots of pain and occasional blood. Plus violins and ballet.
My next two novels are plotted out and so far consist of... A sort of Nutcracker thing, involving a male harpy, a clockwork boy and an island in the sky. Kind of Nutcracker meets Beauty and the Beast meets my twisted brain. After that is a Sleeping Beauty runs into Little Mermaid featuring a male siren, a young man who can't go into the ocean but lives on an island, and a dark prince who wants both of them for himself.
I should note, I suppose, that everything I write is queer. I much prefer writing m/m relationships.
But seriously, I'll read anything you want to throw at me. I'm not picky about genre, but I will admit there's stuff I'm just not very experienced with (by which I mostly mean sci-fi). Still, I'll do my best.
If interested, either post here or go ahead and PM me.
I look forward to making a new friend or two...or three...however many!
Arianna
