Hey, we had really decent winters in Edmonton... :D And Fort McMurray and Thompson... I've lived in some cold cold places. :D

Yes, the roads in Vancouver are really that much better than the ones here.

We're in monsoon season (we have two monsoon seasons) and when it rains heavily, like it has the last few days, roads are flooded and impassable. I don't even mean roads in low-lying areas - I mean any road with deep potholes, which is nearly every road except the main main main ones. *sigh*

My folks live aboard a boat and spend much of their time around Vancouver Island. They're up on the Alaskan coast right now, but they've introduced me to lots of beautiful places in BC: Friday Harbor, Sucia Island (sp?), Sidney, Butchart Gardens, on and on. With two small kids (3 yrs, and 8 months) it's going to be a while before we visit again. But they love BC... and so do I, as much as I've seen.

I happen to know where those nasty Canadian Fronts come from, and I'd just as soon go back to where they're an occasional occurance, not a daily thing.

In the case of Calgary, they usually come from our friends down in Colorado. But that's okay, we love them anyway.

A citizen of the world, eh? What a wonderful way to look at things.
