I hope I get a job too. I was in continuous work for 32 years. I don't like being unemployed!

We have a gorgeous local here, 'The Blue Boar'. It has an interesting history of its own:

1. It was the Officers' Mess of the 101st Airborne (Band of Brothers) and there's little pieces of memorabilia all over the pub. The 101st pretty much took over the whole village. Major Winters lodged around the corner in what is now the village Post Office, back then it was one of the village shops.

2. The Doctor Who episode 'The Doctor and the Devils' was partly filmed there, 40 years ago. It was renamed 'The Cloven Hoof' for that episode. Rumor has it there's supposed to be some kind of event there this year. I have yet to see anything on the village web site about it, mind.
