Hello, all.

My name is Karen. I am 31 years old. I love literature. I have a degree in English Lit, studied Rhetoric and Composition in grad school, and have a few semesters of experience teaching writing.

I have been writing since grade school, but am just now getting serious about publishing fiction. My current project is a ground-up rewrite of a novel that I started dreaming up in high school and wrote during my senior year of college.

Born and raised in the southern Illinois area, I currently reside near St. Louis with my fiance and two cats.

I look forward to being part of the community here.

I'm asking this of every newby I respond to :

How about a few paragraphs of your writing that you are proud of. It'll really help us know you and at least one of your styles a bit better.

Not trying to scare you away but it's never too early to stop being bashful. I promise that I won't critque it on the forum and doubt that anyone else will.
