Hello to all,

As I'm new to this website and well still very much a virgin to it - do forgive me if I end up posting things to the wrong places in the beginning. ;)

I'm in the process of a rewrite and edit of my last draft. My manuscript is just below 100k at present, but will no doubt change and either increase or decrease.

I write urban fantasy. On the advice of an agent I met through a one to one, on my submission to a writers festival - I was told that I had the ability to venture off the fence between YA and Adult more into Adult. Which I've now done and loving it - a few less boundaries too. I've been told that I'm a descriptive and emotive writer, so be warned. I do have a bit of talent for writing a little gore.

I don't have an agent yet, all I have is a business card of the agent I met. I've not yet finished and polished the first book. I've set a deadline for the end of this year, when I'll send out submissions.

It's the first book of a planned 3 book story. I do have a passion for wolves, so they feature in my story in various forms.

Different realms (immortal and mortal), a centuries old blood war that has spilled into the mortal world. Main focus on shape-shifters pack of watchers (half wolf / half man and an in between) that are a dying race due to a mutated strain of the black death. Fey, dragons, other immortal beings and creatures and some very dark spirits that seduce both mortals and immortals in their hunger for power venture into this story too. A long forgotten ancient prophecy. Damaging secrets, betrayals and history. A young Alpha with the world on his shoulders about to go through his 'awakening'. A young mortal woman who is unaware of secrets hidden within her blood. Woven into the story, the struggle of two soul mates and the mortal and immortal threats they face. Main setting is in Northern Wisconsin and has both Native American and supernatural influences.

That's it in a nutshell really and I think that I've already given away to much detail in this open forum.

I'm looking for another one or two honest and trustworthy genuine crit / writer buddies. I don't mind if all you want from me is to bounce ideas off in the beginning - I'm open to that and love a challenge. But TRUST being the key word here too. As you may have gathered I'm pretty protective about my writing.

Lastly, thanks for taking the time to read this. If you keen message me or reply to this thread.

Chantal

That's certainly a very interesting quote. And I'd agree to an extent. I think that it's best to write from experience or / and with passion.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hello! Your project definitely sounds interesting and I think it's neat that it's set in Northern Wisconsin. I've lived my whole life in Wisconsin, so it's always neat to see my state represented in any way.
