What I Need: Someone (or two) to take a read through part or all of my finished MS. I am looking for pointing out errors in pacing, structure, character development and such in general. If you want to give me a painstaking line-by-line that's cool too, but I would be tickled to just have a general summary of the reading experience.

Manuscript in Question: Complete 83K work, YA category. It is contemporary setting with mild fantasy/magic elements (medieval-type fantasy). No vampires.

What I Can Give Back: General BETA-ness (you wouldn't want me checking your grammar, trust me) favor will be returned. Or tasty cookies. Or I will photoshop your least-favorite family member into an embarrassing photo for you to use as blackmail/personal enjoyment/entertainment for the next family reunion.

I’d be happy to do a first three chapters swap, checking for pacing, character development, readability etc, and see how it goes from there. PM me, if you’re interested, or want more details about my WIP. I should probably mention I’m no expert on YA. But I write fantasy, so should be okay with that aspect.

I would be interested as well. I have a manuscript as well, close to 92k. However, I am going through some major revisions and I am trimming alot of it to get it in the 80-90k region. It started out as 100k. It is young adult fantasy too.

If you need a third eye (eew!) I could read the first chapter for you this week-end. You could read my Ch 1 in return if you like, although it isn't YA.
