I know you're meant to make resolutions for New Year, but as a UK freelancer April 5 is the real New Year's Eve - it's the end of the tax year!
My 2005/6 goals (having left full-time employment in February 05) were:
* to write and publish a full-length book
* to turn a profit on the book
* to make enough to buy a plasma TV
* to sell 1000 copies
The first three are done, and the last should be there in the next 2-3 months.
Now I'm concentrating on selling articles as a full-time gig. So I hereby pledge my aims to:
* in 2006/7 to make enough money from writing to live on (in other words, my bank account should have as much or more on April 5 2007 as it does today)
* in 2007/8 to earn more than I made in my last year of full-time employment.
Fingers crossed...
