As far as I can tell, our real concerns or lingering questions are about unsolicited email targeted towards writers, offering paid editing services--but primarily the sticky point in the specific instance in the original post seems to be that the agent who forwarded the manuscript is the one who screwed up, and MES is essentially coming into the thread as possibly concerning because:
1. Someone from MES has apparently spammed people who are perplexed as to how their addresses were obtained, or they're sending email to people whose addies are available under their profiles?
2. If indeed MES is closely affiliated with a specific agent/agent in terms of referrals-for-dollars, then there's some concern about that agent with regard to ethical/conflict of interest questions, per AAR requirements--which has us looking a little askance at the business association between that agent and MES?
(Just as a general rule of thumb, for ANY of us, by the way -- while I can understand that it can be disconcerting to see your name pop up when you do a vanity-Google, generally the very best thing to do is just click away quietly and let your record speak for itself.)
