Equeried per their website directions and got a very nicely worded partial request (for a hard copy partial) from Gretchen two weeks later. Haven't heard back yet but again, Gretchen's email was so nicely phrased, I'm stoked! (= Sorry to hear many haven't heard back. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone (and myself, of course...*grin*).

I took a chance & sent Bernadette a DM on Twitter to see if she's a 'no response means no' agent.

ETA: She said mine either ended up in spam or she's really backed up. She asked to send again & I got a request for a partial!

She didn't give a time line, but I'd say requery if a few months have passed.

Just an FYI - when I was on Querytracker this morning, Bernadette is now at Victoria Sanders & Associates. Does this mean Baker's Mark is gone? or did she just leave?

It's hard to find a sign of Gretchen or anything up to date from Baker's Mark. The site is still up, but it lists Bernadette on the Contact page. No Gretchen at QueryTracker anymore, either.

Gretchen is now providing editorial services at Cogitate Studios. She lists herself as "former Agent/Editorial Director" at Baker's Mark.

Bernadette requested a partial by snail mail in August, and I sent it right away. My tracking only showed "Arrived in Destination Country" for about a month, so I don't know if she ever received it.

Kind of sad to see Baker's Mark go. Bernadette's offer of rep was one of them I had to refuse. I've never seen such an enthusiastic person rally behind a book like her. I was heart-busted to refuse, and something inside of me tells me that I'll miss her plans for Fusion, and all the likely places it was bound to go. I might look up her up one day and walk over that bridge that was never burned.

Tri:cry:

I sent Bernadette a query on October 12th at 1:26 PM, got a response that same day at 1:28 PM asking for a full. I sent the full on October 13th, then got confirmation that she'd received it on the 14th.

I can't wait to have her read my stuff. I think out literary styles would be a perfect match.

And now the waiting...sigh...

Just curious, did she ask for the full by email or snail mail? I had to send my partial by snail mail, and if she's now in New York instead of Oregon... hmmm.

Good luck with the full!

She asked for it by email. Perhaps you could message her to make sure she received yours?

I've got to say, it's only been a few days and already the waiting is killing me. This can't be a good sign! Haha!

The way things are going, I think I'll hold off for a bit and then get in touch with her again via Twitter. Who knows, I might have something totally different to send if things don't pan out at the other agency.
