I'm HistorySleuth on NaNo too.

Got a lot of layout and editing done. Added some maps. Tomorrow I'll sync my jornada to see how many words I did on my WIP at work on Thurs and Fri.

Having never done NaNo, I've never signed up for their forums. :e2smack:

I'll let everyone know when I do something about that. ;)

Last night I started to get a sore ticklish feeling in my throat. I went to bed at 1am and woke up at 3am. I'll try going back to bed soon, but yeah, definitely getting some sort of plague. :e2bummed:

Emoticon re-enactment of the virus: :mob:mob:mob

Looks like I may not start working full time on Tuesday after all. It will probably be peaking, or just hitting the downward side (Please! Please! Please!) right about then.

More importantly, I hope it doesn't slow down my writing efforts. I am 2/3 done with my edits and have been cruising along nicely.

ETA: Okay, I signed up on the Nano site under DocBrown. Anyone is free to friend me, but I am sure I'll spend limited time there, even in November. AW is all the writing forums I can handle for now. :D

Wow, steam, good luck with the cleanup! I hope everything gets back to normal as quickly as possible.

And Doc, sorry about the plague. Feel better!

417 for me yesterday. Managed to sneak off to the study while someone stayed with the dog.

I know really huh? Its not my kids I have to watch now that their teens, now its the dogs. I look forward to their nap time. ;)

Sign up when you feel better Doc. You need to so you can update your word count as you go, and upload the doc for final word count verification at the end.

I forgot. I did do something! On Friday I drafted a new query. On Saturday I refined it.

Today I can not only remember this information, but I can string together new information. Exciting!

steampunkette, stay safe!

Wow, somehow I missed the earthquake post! Hope you're doing okay. That's absolutely terrifying, and I say this as someone with a deep fear of earthquakes, so that's saying something.

*BIG HUGS* Here's to hoping your aftershocks quiet down enough that you can get some sleep.

Thanks, kaitie and everyone!

We're still getting aftershocks here, 60 hours later. Makes it very hard to sleep and consequently I am a mess at the moment :drool

So I had no words on Saturday/Sunday :( but today I managed 1235... not quite NaNo levels that I was aspiring too, but not too bad either. Hopefully tomorrow will be better...

so happy to hear you're okay Steamspunkette! and Doc, hope you're feeling better.

I got in 1383 words in the last two days, with the bulk of that being today. I also edited about 30 pgs in my 3rd mystery today. so overall, not bad. Now, it's time to play.

I've been procrastinating lately by working on my synopsis and agent list instead of writing. It's my own brand of cart-before-the-horse self-sabotage. I'm never going to need a synopsis or agent list if I can't finish the novel. Poo.

Steam, I hope things are better now. That's some scary stuff.

Doc, get well soon!

1,246 new words on my WIP, 668 on an alternative ending outline and I edited 12K + words in my Indian land title book. So a productive few days for me.

Woo hoo! Everyone's doing great. I'm going to do some catch-up today. I messed with my query a bit again (not the one in my blog link). This one's helping me focus better on my revisions too.

First off, thoughts and prayers to Steampunkette and everyone else around Christchurch.

Now, all about me...

I've temporarily given up on the Diversionary Fun Side Project. I think it's very sellable, and the quicker I get it done, the better, but I'm reaching the point where I need to do some research and I think I'd rather research Alex and Julie's stories some more first.

So the last few days I started working on Book 3. I wrote pages and pages of notes and an outline, and now I've got 3,020 words that could actually make it to the final version.

Book 3 isn't a murder mystery. I was asked what term one would use for "The Da Vinci Code," and I came up with "puzzle thriller." Which inspired me to start working on the one I'd had in the back of my mind.

So I can probably get another 5,000 words written before I have to answer some big questions - the starting point is a "to be opened upon my death" letter that was lost for nearly fifty years. I have to figure out how to introduce the bad guys so that it's actually a thriller. Otherwise they solve the puzzles at their leisure and it's kinda boring. And I have to read up on the history of the Congo for some important flashbacks.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. My throat isn't so bad, but I am feeling quite run down. I watched a lot of Anime today. :)

But, I also did a little work. I edited two chapters adding in 388 words, so it is a bit of progress.

Glad to see so many doing so well this long weekend. :)

Earthquakes and aftershocks are legit excuses, I suppose. :D

ETA: HS I buddied you at the NaNo forums, but SP I couldn't find hummingbirdchen on there. :(

Steampunkette, I can sympathize about the earthquakes. I went through the Loma Prieta earthquake soon after I moved to California. The ground just should not DO that. Here's hoping you and yours stay safe. :Hug2:

Hope your cold is getting better, DocBrown. Here's some tea: :e2coffee:

Got a little written over the weekend but not as much as I'd hoped (as usual). Editing just wasn't working, and every time I sat down to work on something, I ended up with the overwhelming urge to do something else. Sigh. Here's hoping this week is better.

I'm TheIT over on the NaNo site, too. Friend away.

Thanks for the tea TheIT. :)

SP: Good job on working through the fear! ;)

Sassy: Good luck with the e-queries.

HJ & SP: Nice word counts.

I watched some more anime today. I did less work, in fact, I was going to do nothing all day until a few minutes ago I was inspired to adjust the last chapter I edited. So I added a whopping 49 words. :D

I revised a chapter yesterday. That's one for this week. Two more to go to meet my weekly goal.

I put on my editing hat last night and started looking at beta comments on "Shapes". Amazingly, they were making sense, plus I think I have a new take on the opening chapter. I guess that means it's time to dive back into revision mode.

Oh, and people, I signed up for NaNoWri.... :S same username there as here, if you want to buddy me
