Irene's passing

Hello, I am Irene's sister and I have only now been able to bring myself to this site. It has been a hard month.

I have read all of your posts and am so grateful Irene had such a support group for her life's passion. I thought you would like to know that Irene knew she wanted to be a writer when we were teenagers and she would write short gothic romances that only she and I would read. Life took her on a different path, however and it was only in her last 5 or 6 years that she found her way back to where her heart was.

So thank all of you for being there for her. I will treasure these postings. It is such a comfort to know that others saw my sister as the same giving, caring, funny person I knew her to be.

All the best!
Edna DeFlavis

Edna, thank you so very much for posting. I can only imagine what a difficult time this is for you and your family -- I have two sisters, and can't really comprehend losing someone so close, with whom so much history and so many memories are shared.

Irene was very much a loved and treasured member of this community. We were very much blessed by her presence. Thank you so very much for sharing your own memories of her with us.

Rest in peace, Irene. You touched your dream, however briefly. I''m glad you got your agent news before you left us.

My deepest condolences to your family and friends.

Edna, I'm so sorry you lost your dear sister. We all loved her here. She helped me when I was just learning to write. I have three sisters and would hate to lose one of them. Will Iren's book still get published? I hope so.

We all miss her heaps. :(

Thanks for visiting us.

Trish.

Irene's work

Hi, Trish and All:

Both Irene's husband George and I have been in contact with her agent. I spoke to her a week ago. She is still interested in pushing forward with publishing, but does not know all the "ins and outs" of publishing posthumously. She had some things on the fire this week and said that after that she would start working on it. I intend to contact her again in another week.

Again, thank you all ....
Edna

Here, there, everywhere.
Edna, that's wonderful!

Please, if it's not too much trouble, do keep us updated. I know I would love to see Irene's book up on the top of the forum one day. :)

Hi Edna.

From what I recall -in the UK at least - the copyright would be an asset of Irene's estate, and her Executors and/or whoever inherits the copyright would be free to deal with the Agent.

Probably not much different in the States but I'm sure all will work out satisfactorily. Do return to let us know when everything is arranged for publication.

Kindest.

Edna, maybe some publisher will see these forum posts and ask to see Irene's great manuscript. After all, many of us on here would buy it!

HELLO, PUBLISHERS OUT THERE! COME AND HELP IRENE!

After what happend to poor Irene, I decided life is too short, and I've now published two of my stories, one with a print on demand publisher, and one is for sale as an ebook on Amazon. My other two stories will also be for sale on Amazon soon. I no longer wish to wait for agents.

Thanks Irene, you inspired me to do this.

I hope Iren's book will be published some day. I would love to buy it.
