Kevin, I understand in order to write articles, you need to have a mental library of ideas. What a great idea to take your home decorating experience and putting it into words.

Chris, I know the feeling or writing so factual in a day job that it comes through in creative writing. Sometimes I also have to watch myself in my paralegal work, in that I don't start writing creatively! It's an interesting juxtaposition.

I'm a journalist so I write a lot that's not fiction. Well, I would if I wasn't unemployed. :)

I do however try to keep those muscles active, and spend about 50% of my time working on non-fiction for magazines and the press.

Maxine, I have much admiration for people who can write journalistic pieces for newspaper, magazines, etc.
