I'm going to apologize in advance for the stupidity of this question, I'm a computer noob. I bought Microsoft Access last December, online. Now my laptop is dying and I'm having a new one delivered today. How can I get Access onto the new computer? Is there some kind of option on Microsoft's website? I don't have to buy it a second time do I?

We had to reimage a computer due to a virus a few years ago. We had to reinstall (ironically) Norton Antivirus, which we had purchased as a download. We called customer support, explained the situation, gave them our contact info and the credit card we used to purchase the download, and they emailed us instructions on how to re-download for free.

Hope this helps!

Most software I've bought online, you can download it any time without purchasing, and then use the registration number you got when you purchase it to unlock it. I'm not sure if Microsoft does it that way, but that's how all my online software purchases have worked.

But it looks like the OP did a download...

I read "online" as bought it "online," vs. download--oops.

But Microsoft is pretty good about letting you re-download; the difficulty is finding the contact number.

Try to find an email receipt for the download, first. There's often a contact number, and sometimes, even a registration code.

If the old laptop isn't dead yet, perhaps the installation file is still there somewhere.

Failing that... MS likely sent you an email receipt with a license key. If you still have that email message, it might have a download link.
