Hello, I just wanted to know if this is confusing anyone besides me? Is there too many hers in the sentence?

Thanks

Taylinn woke to mother calling she and her sister down for dinner.

That looks okay to me. (though I'm bad about the order of reflexive pronouns and nouns, so it could be Taylinn woke to mother calling her sister and her down for dinner)

To make this technically correct, all you have to do is remove the comma.

But it's a little ungainly, as you noticed, and it tells rather than shows (which is perfectly all right if it's of little importance). If I were asked to rewrite this, which I have not been, I'm pretty sure I could make it all show with the same word count, maybe even shorter.

Maryn, good at small rewrites, bad at big picture
