DLST made me late to my first class this morning. I woke up on time, but I didn't want to get out of bed, and while I was equivocating out of sight of a clock, I became late.

Er...ouch.

But after a car accident on Thursday, and getting up early to look for a new one on Friday and Saturday (along with the literal headaches that accompanied said car search), DST just can't compare.

There are actually some other phonemes you might manage as well. But you'd have a lot more possibilities going with sign language.

It would be a hybrid of both, though. You still need to be able to call and if you have the option of voice and hearing, you're going to use it.

We have both Alcaide and Almofada. We also have Algarve and tons of jokes about words beginning with Al.

So, what are you going to read now?

I went to the bookstore a few days ago and bought a bunch of books in english. Am starting a new one today, but I haven't decided which one yet.

No idea; of the used books I bought along that one there was The Diary of Anne Frank, Ivanhoe and Amadis of Gaula. Amadis of Gaula seems interesting, have you heard of it?

Well, it's not really probable to have a hybrid language. The way that sign languages are constucted is just so different from spoken language. Not the meanings they express, you understand, but the way in which they do it.

Here, there, everywhere.

Nope. I read Diary of Anne Frank ages ago and I have never read Ivanhoe. What's it about?

I decided to go for Dead Until Dark, the first Sookie Stackhouse novel, by Charlaine Harris. I can't concentrate on it though. The characters from last night's FF Challenge have been bugging me all day. I've been stealing whatever minutes I can on the pc to write, but it's not been enough. They just won't shut up!

But today I am happy since I got an excellent grade on my Statistics exam of last week; free imaginary booze to everyone!

Yay!!!

I hate query writing time *sigh*

This is probably a really daft question, but why do you need to write queries when you already have published books?

Ivanhoe and Amadis of Gauga are both chilvaric books, but while Ivanhoe was written in the XIX Century, Amadis of Gauga is the real deal, a medieval Iberian chilvaric text. I don't know why I chose both, but they were in a fair good price and I had already read The Canterbury Tales in Spanish, so I said what the hell.

Alternatively, I can wait to my father to come since I asked him a couple of books from the US. He arrives next Friday, God be willing.

I wrote 500 words today...in a short story killing off my MC (it's okay, I'd been meaning to kill him off, I'm not taking out revenge for writer's block on my own fictional characters or anything). Hurray! That's the most writing I've done since January. Hopefully I am not jinxing myself by announcing this! This is the last short story in a planned novel made up of a bunch of connected shorts.

<pokes head in door>

I just posted an excerpt from my book Hatchings on my blog. I'll be posting another couple of chapters as I ramp things up to its release (as a self-published e-novel - probably off Smashwords) in July.

Enjoy. If anyone wants to review the whole book, get in contact with me at [email protected].

Gotta' build the hype and fan-base somehow...

You're beautiful, Fenika. Perhaps one of the most beautiful people I have had the chance to talk to.

:Hug2: Cheers, Max. It's tough to be positive when your body falls apart on you, so thanks for the compliment.
