There's even a new blood substitute that is supposed to be working miracles on the battlefield and in forward medical trauma units (that one I don;t know much about yet).
Interesting stuff, Greg. I may have to snag this for a story. :D
Evening, Hounds.
I'm staring at a short story tonight and not making any progress.
Hope everyone else is doing better than me today.

I've heard about that powder for wounds before.

Interesting sidenote, my aunt was a respiratory therapist at a VA hospital. She said it was insane the number of soldiers coming back with respiratory diseases because of all the cooties and nasties in the sands of Afghanistan. I spoke to her this morning.

afternoon Hounds.

Thread's been quiet, so I'm going to presume we're all being productive. At least, that's my current operating theory.

this is what you get for being the first to pop in. Don't worry, it'll wear off... eventually.

But I like it up here...

(Sorry for popping in and out. I'm working like a madwoman on my novel--even if I do keep deleting stuff and redoing it, it's coming along nicely. I think this is the cleanest first draft I've ever had, now that I have the right premise and plot. After a thirty thousand word discovery mission. Which totally pissed me off, but you know.)

I redid a website this afternoon. The owner of the site did not like the design his graphic designer used to set up the original pages and, quite frankly, I thought the design was horrid (black and orange background which, wile they might be Sooner colors, sure do look bad on a contractor website).

Still a few tweaks that need to be done, but you can view it here if you like,

www.homeguardconstruction.biz

Not horror-related, but I do manage to make a few extra dollars (very few right now) for web design work and business record-keeping.

I just posted an excerpt from my book Hatchings on my blog. I'll be posting another couple of chapters as I ramp things up to its release (as a self-published e-novel - probably off Smashwords) in July.

Enjoy. If anyone wants to review the whole book, get in contact with me at [email protected].

Gotta' build the hype and fan-base somehow...

Wait your turn.

*huffs glue and waits for anger to dissolve*

No. No sniffing glue. That's bad. Besides... screw up with this stuff and you'd glue your nostrils shut.

Then you'd talk funky.

Oooh. Does I get a monkey on my back?!? *waits*

Not unless I cut a hole in the ceiling. Sorry, how else did you think i had you glued up there?

So... best I can do is...

*glues Leuk's tail to ceiling fan*

Don't worry, the fan's been broken for quite awh-

Oops, look at that. No it isn't.

But I like it up here...

*redabs Effy*

:D

that's it, my work is done here for tonight Hounds.

(someone turn off the fan before leaving the room? 'k, thanks :D)

I had some terrorists in two or three of my fantasy romances I've since trunked. Even though they were my best work.

It's 6:00 a.m., and I'm not even tired. Can I technically pull an all-nighter if it's nearly daylight outside? LOL

Hmm... I'd say yes if you managed to make it another hour or so. Technically. Sunrise in your local wasn't until 7.

However, my own rule of thumb says if I can see without turning on the lights, it's day, no matter if the sun's officially up or not.

So sure, why not?

Betwixt a nightmare and a veil of shadowy dark
I did cave at 7:30, because the puppy came looking for me, then guided me upstairs. He's pretty funny and way too smart - he knew it was past my bedtime. :)

I slept for a few hours and now I'm back working to my revisions.

Have a great day, everyone!

Puppies are wise. I always listen to mine. They give great advice.

I'm going to the doctor today to get the results of my echocardiogram. Of course, I have a hideous cough, chest congestion and sinus drainage/pain. Plus, we have to take the kids to their little brother's birthday party this afternoon. He's the demon-child.

:Jaw:

I don't know how you do *anything* on five hours sleep, let alone revise. The words would all be blurring together for me....

... and my cat doesn't care about bedtimes, just mealtimes. Specifically, hers.
