Two days ago, got the request yesterday. I was really surprised at how fast the response came. I'm also glad I've read this so I know not to get my hopes up when I see that "congratulations" in a letter haha. That sorta thing is good to know.

Anyway, I got a couple of recommendations from a friend yesterday so I'm fixing those things up (putting back in a couple of things I'd cut out that he thinks add to the story) and then I have to format it and send it off, but I'll be sure to come back and let people know how it turns out.

Ann Behar-sgglit.com ?

I got a request for my full from Ann Behar of Scovil Galen Ghosh Literary Agency and was wondering how great of an agency this is?

Also, I had a full request from Joseph Veltre of The Veltre Company, know anything about him?

And how long does it take to get a responce once you have sent the requested material?

Still waiting

Anybody still waiting to hear back on a full? From the other posts it seems that lately the agency has not responded to requested material, or is that incorrect?

Sigh, I would love to be represented by them, at the same time I don't want to keep my hopes too high. Just wondering after how long of not hearing back should I move on....

I had a request for a full from him in the beginning of December and I'm still waiting for a response. He seems to have great credentials though so like you I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get a positive reply for representation. In the mean time, I'm just working on my next novel and sending out other queries. Normally when an agent requests a full you do get a reply though and I've been told that standard waiting time is within twelve weeks, if longer it doesn't hurt to give them an email to check the status on your requested material.

Okie dokie, just got my rejection as well. Took 5 days for the full, which is pretty amazing. I really expected to wait longer.

Anyway, same polite form as everyone else got, though hey, he did address it to me personally so that was nice.

Anyway, good luck anyone else with manuscripts out there.

Could be. I don't imagine he actually read much of mine. He might have, but he doesn't really request partials, so I imagine he could tell pretty early on whether he would like it or not. It might mean that he's putting more consideration into it.

I doubt Mr. Veltre reads every full that gets requested. Most likely he has one or two interns giving a first read. If you haven't heard back it might mean that the intern liked it and now it's on his (Mr. Veltre's) desk waiting to be read.

I hope you're right, it's been about 10 weeks since I got my request for a full and still no word. Fingers crossed

He's had my full for over a year. Got a note at the six month mark saying it got a positive first read and then never heard anything after that.

i have a feeling this agency is very slow-moving. i'd sent a query back in september and got a full request in january. it was a weird surprise, but by then i'd shelved the book.

Well I did get a reply from him requesting me to send the manuscript again in an rtf file. I had originally sent it in a word document. Then he said that his colleague was now looking forward to reading it.

Colleague? this must be new. Went on his website again and he now has someone else working with him, Carrie McGinnis. Anyone know anything about her? Regardless, her background sounds pretty good. It's been about a week since I resent it. Fingers crossed for all

I like their form query. I also like that they tell you if you hear nothing from them in a week (no long drawn out period here) if they are not interested. Very nice to know.

Well I finally got my R from them today. Really disappointing, oh well onto the next one. Sigh, but what sucked the most was that it was addressed Dear Steve... Not only is Steve the wrong gender but it sounds nothing like Jennifer...LOL.

You're kiddin'... Did you try and reply, you never know, what if Steve was the intended recipient and they got the email address wrong instead?

They actually do send out query rejections. I got one yesterday for a query I sent in February. I'd already written it off based on that statement on their site.

First, I'd like to say congratulations on the progress you've made. Writing is such an arduous process, and it's clear from your manuscript that you've crafted your work with a great deal of time and care. And though I admired the character of Jenna, particularly her strength and resilience, I'm afraid I just didn't fall for these pages as a whole. Given that our current market is such a tough one to crack, I'm not 100% confident that I would be able to find the right home for your work.

Taste in fiction is so personal, so I hope my reaction isn't a disappointment. I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect representation for your novel, and I thank you again for the chance to read it.

Oh, but that's nice that they took the time to personalize it. Mine just said "though there were things that kept me turning the pages" (or something in that line) and then the blurb on how they didn't fall for it. The comments about the craft of your work and your character are very encouraging. Keep sending it out, you'll get there!
