I'd send a f/u also. I did have one agent request a full from my last novel, then never get back to me. She responded to my first f/u, but not to my second or third. Bummer, but it sometimes happens.

From Josh's Publisher's Marketplace page:

PLEASE NOTE: If you sent me a query at Writers House, or if I am evaluating a partial or full manuscript of yours, please bear with me. I have taken my queries with me, but am somewhat backed up with the move, and it's taking me longer than I like to respond. But I haven't forgotten, and will respond as soon as possible.

I don't know if this helps or hurts, but Josh had my stuff for a year. And now he's my agent. A long wait does not signify a lack of enthusiasm, I can attest to that.

(And ditto everything Teriann said. Josh rules.)

I was looking at this agency both on QueryTracker and Publishers Marketplace but the only website I can find is this one: http://www.randvinc.com/ - one page, no submission guidelines, no details, deals, nothing... Am I missing the right website? I was thinking of querying Ms. Azmitia but nowhere can I find submission guidelines!

Oh, whatever, I sent a query over the e-mail. We'll see how it goes. :)

Yeah, I think providing interests and e-mail addresses are the sub guidelines. If they don't state specifically what to include or not include, I always paste in the first four or five pages.

Good luck with your query!

Really? He's had my partial for a year and three months and I'd long ago given up hope. Did you nudge?

Hi Monlette,

He was at a conference I was attending, where I recieved an offer from another agent. So, I let him know in person. But, I should add that we'd spoken a bit the night before, and even though it had been a year, he knew my book.

If I was in your position, I'd drop him a line at R&V. And good luck!

I'm trying to backtrack and figure out where I found the information, but my tracking spreadsheet notes that Joy Azmitia wants the first chapter, a two-page synopsis, and the query letter. My notes also say she wants snail-mail queries, not email.

I hope this helps!

I emailed Joy and got a next day reply that I'd hear from her soon. Anyone had similar or have any other info? Here is her email address:

That said, I've been waiting since late November on a partial and didn't get a response on my four month nudge... so I'm thinking 8 weeks is optimistic.

Hope you have better luck :)

I sent a partial to Josh on February 1. He told me that I hear back in 8 weeks too. But I haven't. So 8 weeks doesn't seem too likely.

On 4/30 I sent my QL to Joy Azmitia.
5/3 - sent requested 50 pages.
6/16 - I sent her a friendly "nudge."
6/17 - She replied saying that she'd just loaded my ms on her Kindle and would be reading it that weekend.
I've heard nothing since then. Frustrating, man....

Interesting...

Josh requested a partial from me while he was still at Writers House. Then on Nov. 19, when I learned of his move, I wrote to see where things stood, and he requested a full. On Nov. 30, he wrote to say he had read the first 50 pp and was "very excited". Then nothing. On Feb. 11 I wrote to tell him I would be out of the country and out of phone contact for a month; the same day he wrote to say he was "embarrassed" and had zapped my ms to his Kindle and would read it that weekend. Then nothing. I nudged on May 13 and got no answer. So - is zapping to the Kindle the kiss of death? Pink Chick, I hope your luck is better than mine.

HI all. I sent Josh a query on August 12. He asked for a partial on the 16th, saying it'd be eight weeks (hopefully!) My fingers are crossed... oh yeah.

Listing of sales?

I'm new to AW and this is my first posting, so please forgive if I'm not in the right place with the right kind of question: I'm trying to find out more about Joy Azmitia with Russell & Volkening. P & E does not list any sales to her name, where else can I look to find out if she has made any? Anyone with any personal experience with her as an agent?

http://publishersmarketplace.com/members/chibijoy/ has some recent sales.

Josh Getzler requested a partial from me back in mid-August. Do you all think it'd be okay to send a status query or should I wait until he contacts me?

Thanks for any info!

Ruth, I would nudge after four months on a partial. I used to be a no-nudger, but I've changed my mind. (And as a result, I've got a phone call this Thursday . . . from a nudge!). I've kept mine very short: "Hi Ms. ----, I'm just following up on a partial I sent in August. If you haven't gotten to it, no worries. ~~Honeysock"
