A dark, evil place.
I could beat NoodleSnot but I guess that's not quite the same thing is it? :wag:

(oh come on, you know you guys missed me. :ROFL:)

NoodleSnot? There's a NoodleSnot posting here now? Man, I guess I have been away for too long.

700 words. No rejections. No subbies.

Well, I'm reporting late this week because I had to go to a 3-day seminar for work and internet connectivity was really bad. I guess I won't get any dancing bananas, but at least I should avoid the chapeau of shame....

I did succeed in writing 4,200 words this week. I really wanted to break the 5K barrier, but didn't quite make it. I have some time off at the end of the month, so maybe I will do it then.

On the road, the poetry bug hit me again and I'm playing with that too. The conference also gave me some ideas for my no-fic.

If I didn't have to work, I could do so much more.

about 3600 words on a group research project (insert BIG yawn)

absolutely ZERO creative words flowed from my hands to my keyboard this past week - have I mentioned how I can't wait for this semester to be over with?

I am off the entire week of Thanksgiving, and will be devoting that time to my creative self - and to getting my proposal finished before a certain interested agent decides I've fallen off the face of the earth

So, be prepared...the weekend after Thanksgiving I will be dazzling all of you with my tremendous word count - and with my list of 101 things to do with a turkey carcass

Hugs from a very tired Sweet Tea!

You HAVE been away too long, Haggie-Poo. Nice word count, nice to hear no rejections have come forth, bummer on the no subbies, but at least you're hear and updating, so well done!
:Clap::Clap::Clap:

Our word count line is now drawn at 700. Anyone gonna beat that?

Nice word count, 3 day seminar or no! Nice to see you exploring poetry and nonfiction again, too. Well done! Oh, and we all want to have no work in the way. Trust me, the paychecks are nice.

Nice work on the research project -- any writing is good writing, in that sense. And you'll have plenty of time -- if the agent's interested, you can take your time, they'll still be interested. Make it the best it can be and they're happy to wait for that. Looking forward to the upcoming word counts, and well done for checking in and keeping going on your semester.

:Clap::Clap::Clap:

And, sure enough, the dancing banana will be yours! Enjoy doing the cha-cha all week long! (Oh, but we WILL be checking in next weekend, Turkey Day or not, right? RIGHT?)

My turn. This week I:

1. Continued Club 100 -- today is Day 892
2. Drafted the details for my first contest for my website; it's not live yet, but I'm getting excited about it
3. Did a variety of web work
4. Did a variety of promotion for pre-sales
5. Spent time on the phone and in emails with my agent
6. Completed agent requested edits on Plush Life, prepped and mailed the MS to my agent, new final word count 95,800 -- 1,050 words added, 94K+ re-edited
7. Did a variety of Raphael's Village work
8. Worked on online novel, The Creation Agent, 10,210 words -- 535 words written
9. Prepped for a speech I'm giving on Saturday and Tuesday (I get an hour on Saturday and 20 minutes on Tuesday...should be fun to see how I do...at least for those in attendance, LOL)

That's it for me. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Bupkis. Some beta work (but not as much as I should have done), no inquiry sent. Had the blahs all week.

Me too, only more so. A little back and forth with my sometimes writing partner on a potential short story. That's it.

Except I did work up a shopping list for Thanksgiving dinner. Does that count?
The shopping list doesn't count, Haggie-Poo, but the back and forth brainstorming does. So that's something, right?

Skids in late.

Hi folks. It's been crazy at our house. Oldest son is in a play that ran this weekend and we have basketball and Thanksgiving and we caught 4 mice (sheesh!)

Writingwise: I got a new piece in Family & Faith --yeah, a paying gig! Submitted and accepted, Five Real Issues at the Turkey Table (humor).

Blog: Warning, Reading this Blog could be Hazardous, Alien Questions, Thursday Successes, I finally have a Good Sound Track if not a Good Sound Mind, and No Try Zone.

Catholicmom.com --Commencement Speech for My Children

Working on a grant proposal. Helen gets to take it on the chin this week.

Well, I didn't write much this week either, maybe 300 words but I did a lot of research and some world building. It was nice to spend a day in Scottsdale at a writers conference. I even got to dine with friends.

Next week should be better. I'll have lots of time for writing and smoking some pork shoulder for the feast day.

Wow, even your non-writing stuff is impressive. FOUR mice? Possibly a record! (Not a fun record, but still, a record or sorts.) Nice to see a sub and an acceptance in the same week, excellent work on the blogging, and whoo hoo on the grant proposal. Helen is patient, she'll be there for you. Well done, all the way around, Wonder Woman!
:Clap::Clap::Clap:

And a big WOOT! on the acceptance!
:Trophy:

Our submissions line is drawn at 1. Anyone gonna beat that?

In on Sunday means no Chapeau, Quinn, so good on yer. Well done on the words, good work on the research and world building, excellent that you attended a writers' conference. Well done, all the way around!

And now, the rest of our awards.

No one was so late that they get the Chapeau of Shame, sorry.

However, our winner of the submission challenge this week is our Wonder Woman, SherryTex. Well done on both the subbie AND the acceptance!
:e2cheer::e2cheer::e2cheer:

And our word count winner this week is Quinn. Nicely done!

And, yes, it may be a holiday weekend in the States, but we're still writers, so still check in over the weekend, even if all you did was eat a lot. :D
