Anyone else cringe at Christmas music? Am I the only one that dreads the holidays? I hold my breath through the whole season.
I am a scrooge and always get judged for being one.

I feel absolutely no shame in saying I despise everything about Christmas.
Sure, I get called 'Scrooge' for that - and it pisses me off. Not celebrating Christmas doesn't mean I refuse to buy any presents for anyone, ever. (As if gift-giving should be the whole point of this saccharine charade anyway).
I just will not get involved in the enforced jollity and rampant commercialism.
Or the huge credit card bills comes January.
I'm not sure I'm bitter, but I'm not too fond of the Christmas season. Especially when it starts before Thanksgiving. Even more when it starts before Halloween, as it has in some area stores.
This is what started my rant.Christmas music before Thanksgiving isn't annoying, it's torture.
I am a Christian. (Not conservative, but still). Christmas has never seemed to have a whole lot of spiritual focus in comparison to the commercial. (IMO)
We set our own pace, do our own thing and it's much nicer.
Sounds lovely.I have a long list of family we're supposed to see.
C.C. - Dickens"Are there no prisons?" asked Scrooge. "Plenty of prisons," said the gentleman, laying down the pen again. "And the Union workhouses?" demanded Scrooge. "Are they still in operation?" "They are. Still," returned the gentleman, "I wish I could say they were not." "The Treadmill and the Poor Law are in full vigour, then?" said Scrooge. "Both very busy, sir." ":Oh! I was afraid, from what you said at first, that something had occurred to stop them in their useful course," said Scrooge. "I'm very glad to hear it." "Under the impression that they scarcely furnish Christian cheer of mind or body to the multitude," returned the gentleman, "a few of us are endeavouring to raise a fund to buy the Poor some meat and drink, and means of warmth. We choose this time, because it is a time, of all others, when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices. What shall I put you down for?" "Nothing!" Scrooge replied. "You wish to be anonymous?" "I wish to be left alone," said Scrooge.
