Gay penguins should be banninated!

I am a penguin. Hath not a penguin eyes? Hath not a penguin hands,
organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same
food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases,
heal'd by the same means, warm'd and cool'd by the same winter
and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If
you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die?
And if you wrong us, do we not revenge? If we are like you in the
rest, we will resemble you in that.

I want to hand this book to school children.

I would bring it to a baby shower.

I thought that was the whole controversy....

This kind of crap makes me want to write a MG How-to on stealing mommy and daddy's money.

So sad. I won't stop my kids from reading anything they want to. I might make them wait if I think it is a little too mature. And I would definitely want to discuss any adult themes with them. But banning books out of ignorance, or prejudice, really ticks me off. I am going to go out and buy this book to read to my kids. My 6 and 2 year old. And if they grow up wanting to be gay penguins, so be it!!

By the way, what is the problem with gay animals? Homosexuality is very prevelant in nature. My own dog is bisexual (he has had one girlfriend, but many boyfriends), and I love him just the way he is.

I never understand how people can take book bannings in stride. I mean, every book we ban is one more step back towards the Dark Ages. It always makes me depressed to hear of something like this. *sigh*

On the bright side, the penguins are way cute!

I want to write a book that gets banned, because the free publicity offsets the negative press. People will want to read something they are told they shouldn't be reading.
