Hello to everyone! I'm really excited about being here!
I've been writing for over 15 years now. I have a bachelor's in english and history, working on my MA in history, and I pray that one day I'll be able to land an agent or publisher.
I'm female, 31, single, African American and I live in Alabama.
I've been trying to get an agent for about five years now. I keep receiving rejection letters so I'm to the point where I think that maybe I should go ahead and give up. I've received over 50 rejections so far so I'm ready to go ahead and throw the towel in, but decided to give it one last try.
I write African American fantasy, African American paranormal, AA YA and children novels.
My rejections range along the lines of "it's not what we're looking for right now," "I didn't have time to read your work because I'm too busy," "The market isn't good for a novel like this right now," etc.
I'm hoping to find some more inspiration to keep writing, because seriously, I've lost hope on ever getting published.
Well, that's my introduction.
Sorry it was a bit long winded.
