Currently feeling depressed.

Might have to rework the plot completely to Mr. InTheCloset because someone told me it's been done way to many times... :(

Finished the second draft of TOXIN and it's with Betas.

Starting SOLDIER BOYS- the road-trip-demon-apocalypse book. Fun times.

Awww! That's just one person's opinion though. Why don't you try a second opinion?

With my photography, I had someone tell me that flowers were overdone, but lots of great macro photographers told me that if you could get an interesting perspective on it, you can turn an overdone concept into something beautiful and exciting. The same applies for writing.

Try a second opinion. If that person says the same thing, then re-work it, but don't stress out about it. Also, I generally go with what my gut tells me.

Lol. Thank you :D. I got the opinion of someone who would've been my target audience. She seemed to have read/watched a lot of things in the genre I was writing and said that the concept was different and sounded interesting. So, I don't feel as bad about it anymore :D.

MY WIP is growing more and more complex...DAMN!
I had a huge jolt of inspiration in the middle of the night, and plotted it in my mind!
It started of being a quirky love story but now its so much more.

Yay! That's good that you don't feel that bad about it anymore. :Hug2:

Just hit the 20k/25% mark for Lionheart. Not only am I delighted to have reached that far, but I'm really excited that I managed to write 10k - double my total - since July 15. That's the most I've ever written in such a time period (I have yet to do NaNo). So... it feels good and is really encouraging. Now, instead of taking me nine months to write the first draft, as with BB, LH might round out at about six months. Yay.

Only have a few plot points to change and line-edits to go through before I can start sending to betas. I can see the finishing line. It's only a dot on the horizon, but it's there. :D

Wondering how to end the sequel. Should I leave it open for a possible third or close it and continue with a different book. So many ideas in my head. Need Tylenol and possible a good glass of wine. How can a busy mother of three with a husband and a career be so invested in a dream? Why wasn't I this motivated when I had the time and no family?

Yes! I cut 7,000 more words out of Witch Tourniquet, bringing it down from 97,000 to 90,000. And all this mess started out with 180,000 words. Almost done. Almost done.

That finishing-line is looking farther now that 4 agents have requested material. :(

I finished the rough draft of my WIP (Shine)!!

Letting it set for the moment...will be doing a chapter-by-chapter outline beginning in October and then rewriting it for NaNo. I'm calling the rough draft an "extended outline" since it was written by hand and I have no clue how long it is.

Michelle Wolfson

Hey guys! I'm a newbie here so be gentle. :hi: I have a partial out with Michelle Wolfson of Wolfson Literary. I really like this agent, but it's been a few week since I submitted. Anybody have dealings with her?

oops! Maybe I should do an introduction...

I write teen and YA fiction. Mostly Urban Fantasy with wonderfully flawed characters that I love to torment with deliciously awkward situations.

24 queries. 3 partials. Going insane? Yup yup yup.

Long time lurker here...

I just finished the second draft of my WIP. It's a little less then 46k and I'm suffering from low self esteem... aah, did I just waste all this time on the worlds crappiest novel?

I'm too scared to post in the SYW forum.

So I'm gonna stick it in a drawer for a week or so and then begin the rewriting. I'm so tempted to print it all out and read it right now to see how truly horrible it is. Hopefully my confidence will be up in 2 weeks. Hahaha

Oh, I think every writer feels the way you're feeling right now.*gives cookie* I've put on hold my queries for Spheres because there were a few things nagging at me, so I thought I could still rework it. *sighs*

I think it's a good idea to hold out for a bit before you start rewriting it. The story will feel fresh when you read it and then you can tweak if it's needed.
