Although in my case, I don't have one of those in my life. Teachers encouraged me, family supports me... Now if I could just convert another agent and a publisher or two, I'd be sitting pretty.
You might want to hang on to them for a bit if you're interested in doing additional marketing. I kept my extra copies and sent a few to places that published online or magazine reviews tailored to historicals or young adult. I also donated copies as door prizes for writers conferences and writers retreats. I traded signed copies of my novel for signed copies from other novelists. You never know who may end up with your novel if you keep it circulating. Another interesting idea that was presented to me but I have yet to do much about was to donate a couple of copies to holiday travel parks. People want something to read while sitting in campers and trailers on rainy days and the campground manager suggested this.
