I've noticed the abbreviation MG recently on these boards, and I don't know what it means. My first guess is Middle Grade, because I've seen it used next to YA (Young Adult). That might be right...

My second guess is Masochistic Gerbil, though I don't quite see how that relates...

Any help, thanks in advance. :)

You were right with your first guess, Middle Grade(s).

If you're writing about sports cars then you might like to know that MG stands for Morris Garages...

Adding a pointless fact because I have nothing better to do. :D

The very same. The change in name way to give the shiny, cool cars a bit of distance from the 'everyday' cars.
If only they could have built them so they kept running . . . said the guy whose best friend had a MGB-GT in college. He was in electrical engineering and he could just barely keep the electrics working. Fun little car otherwise.

Darn you, BigWords! You've not only hijacked this thread, you've got be thinking that with the success of some other retro cars (VW Beetle, Ford Mustang, Mini), that an updated version of the old MGB-GT would be fun (say, based on an early 70's model).

Uh, I'm not hijacking, uh, I'm just commenting. ;-)
