A place to get feedback on book covers?

I'd try the self-publishing/POD forum, since frequenters there likely have more experience evaluating prospective covers (since traditional publishers generally don't consult the author).

Yeah, posting a thread on AbsoluteWrite is a good idea (if you were yourself the artist I'd have recommended conceptart.otg), I'm studying Design/Illustration and I know there are some other artists who've worked for publications lurking about, but being that everyone on this forum reads this is an inherently ideal testing ground for book art.

I’d suggest a thread in one of the more general forums than self-publishing though, because like I said, everyone here’s a reader so there’s a lot of insight to be offered by the general populace. There have been threads about publication art (be it for comics or cover art) so just use the forum search tool to check where they've been posted.

Also, because of the type of books you write, hop over to the YA and Science Fiction threads.
