Not an unforeseen occurrence, but regrettable anyway. He seemed to have been a very personable fellow, very accessible on screen. RIP, Mr. Swayze.

Rest in peace. He was incredible in different kinds of movies. Playing manly men, or playing in drag, he was very, very talented.

He was in some of my all-time favorite favorite movies (Ghost and Dirty Dancing). Good actor, helluva dancer, and an all-around good guy. He handled it all with grace and dignity and gave a good fight. At least he is done suffering. Right now heaven is a more beautiful place because they are all up there dancing with him. RIP

I enjoyed The Outsiders and Red Dawn (and Donnie Darko). He was a true actor, one who took it seriously, pouring his soul into every film.

I'm not much for Hollywood or pop culture, but I make an exception for Patrick Swayze. He was incredible in the John Jakes miniseries North and South, and I remember going to see him in Point Breakmany years ago. Incredible actor.

Last night one of the channels had Ghost on. There were four friends of ours in the family room, watching it with us. At the end, there wasn't a dry eye. Patrick Swayze really made the movie. But to see him at the end "going toward the light," just brought it all home that now he's not physically with us anymore.
