We're hornier during periods because testosterone didn't drop like the estrogen and progesterone did. Yes, ladies, we have that hormone, too. ;) Testosterone is part of what creates a sex drive in women in the first place, so at the time when that hormone is higher than the other two, we have the sexy feelings.

Yeah, think of cramps as mini labor pains. A lot of things can help prevent them or lessen the severity, like regular exercise, calcium and magnesium...and heating pads are excellent for getting the muscles to relax and give you a break.

I don't find it the least bit erotic, but one of my favorite poems mentions a woman demanding that her lover taste her blood. If it were associated narratively with not the regular act of oral sex, but of something more ... important, something more significant, either as a blood bond between the two, or something that the vamp found in menstrual flow that was not found in veinous flow, it might be interesting. There are a lot of taboos about menstrual blood for some very old, very primative reasons. There are a lot of hints in folklore that it was once considered magical. Now THAT might be interesting.

Chocking on the string?

Yeah, ok, I'd have to pass.
The string can easily be moved out of the way. And besides, it's usually well beyond where the real action takes place.

I don't think it's even possible to choke on the string, even if you slurped it up like a strand of pasta from a plate of linguine marinara.

Very, very, very funny.

I don't actually have an adversion to this type of activity, and I am glad you cleared up that no one will choke from it. I just personally don't like the thought of it being poured into a glass, an umberra placed on top, and someone sucking it up threw a staw, or throwing it back like one would a good red wine.

I always aim for a lighter side to things, so I'm glad you appreciate the humor.

I didn't catch that part of this discussion. From what I gather, and I could be wrong, is that some readers do or don't find an aversion to oral sex when women are menstruating, either from personal experience or merely from reading about the act.

And I still think that you're stretching things a little in your assertion that a tampon string might cause a choking hazard. It could, I suppose, be used lethally if one lover decided to break it off and strangle the other as with a piano wire.

You know, this makes me think that it could be used like a tea bag and possibly a few drops of tabasco sauce added.

I'll keep this relatively quick and to the point.

Vampires drink blood. In paranormal romance novels vampires have sex.
I've read a number of books where the vampire will drink from his partner
during sex. Of course, this is part of the fun of making love with a vamp.

My question is this: How many of you romance readers would be comfortable reading of a vampire performing orally on a woman during that time of the month?

That's pretty exotic...I'm actually kind of curious now about it. I write vampire novel myselves to it makes sense that a male vampire would get quite aroused during that time of the month for his female partner. There are many ways you can go with that and i have yet to read a book where that's done. If you would like someone to proofread for you I'll volunteer.
Good Luck!
