Hi everyone!

I'm a writer and I'm learning to uncover some road blocks that I have experienced along the way, you know, the inner critic. I found a great book called the Artist Way that is really helping me right now. I found it amazing having to go back in time (in my mind) to events that happened towards my writing. I even went to an event that I stuffed where a substitute teacher ripped up my work. I guess it was because I was suppose to be doing math instead of writing, but still!! Now I know why I suddenly had that writers block and am now writing like mad! Amazing how the past still haunts us as we grow older! Well best wishes with all your writing goals and maybe we'll all get somewhere special!

cheers!

Tiger.

Welcome!

And if you like The Artist's Way you might want to find another of the same author's books: The Right to Write. Just a thought. ^.^

Welcome, Tiger, to AW,

It's a good thing when the block breaks and the river flows again. One thing I've found about AW, there is much to help the river keep flowing. Phooey to the substitute, it's plain to see she doesn't understand a writer's mindset, who needs math anyway? :)

Check out things and follow threads, AW is a journey unto itself. Someone will be along shortly to give you a formal welcome and a reference map, but there's a 'Newbie Guide' above in this thread that will help. Have fun and enjoy!

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler Tigerlilly :welcome:

It'll all come good in the end :) . Don't forget to read the newbie guide, which is in a sticky thread at the top of the Newbie Forum. Any problems you can PM me and I'll see if I can help. If you have general questions for the moderators (mods) then you can also PM them privately, or in fact post in the Super-Dooper Newbie 'Ask the Mod' thread. The link is below in my sig line. Again, if you haven't already checked out the newbie guide, you really should :D . There's a wealth of info there, and it will probably make navigating Absolute Write a little easier.

If you need some feedback on your writing, you can post some in our Share Your Work forum (the password is vista). The critiques can be harsh sometimes, so prepare yourself for that. Everyone means well, though. Their goal is to get you the best novel possible and to get it published. Also, it does help to bring them cookies :D . Also, you could critique some of the other members' work too. It is surprising how that can help with you own.

Plus, if you haven't stopped by the terrific Newbie Question of the Day thread yet, then don't forget to pop in and have a go at answering a few of the really easy questions (the link is in the sig line below). They are easy. Yep, they are. And it's so much fun. :D

Oh, and do you like double choc-chip cookies?

Welcome, you seem to have the opposite problem as me. I love everything I write; everyone else seems to think it stinks =-0
