Happy New Year, everyone!

Spent the last two weeks visiting family and wrote a grand total of one page. Time to get back on the proverbial horse. My goal is still to finish my NaNo story then get back to revising my other first draft. When last I left my MC in the NaNo story, he'd just been beaten into unconsciousness. I suppose I really should do something about that, shouldn't I? :D

:Sun: and :poke:, everyone! Happy 2009!

Chapter four of the were-jaguar story finished and submitted to critique circle for feedback. A good way to end a Monday.

573 this morning. I keep thinking I'm going to finish this chapter, and it keeps taking unexpected twists on me.

Welcome back, TheIT!

Thanks, BfloGal! And Captain Howdy, my character just got dumped into a mountain stream, but he hasn't woken up yet. :D

Marie, a were-jaguar? Cool. Good luck on the feedback!

So far no words, but I reread my NaNo to refresh my memory of where I left off, and I'm coming up with an idea for the January SF/F challenge. The prompt is New Year's resolutions. This ought to be fun. ;)

Hi Marie :welcome: and welcome back TheIt - holidays are great aren't they :D. Let's hope they work as a big poke for both of us! I got 1300 words done between today and yesterday. At this rate I SHOULD be over 40,0000 by the middle of next week. Hmm... sounds like a goal to me :)

731 words today (actually Tuesday into Wednesday--some real "dead of night" typing.)

It's coming too slow for my tastes, but at least it's moving. I've decided today as well that it's pacing itself for about 60,000 words. At this point, I think I'm looking at another 5 to 6 chapters, as 13 may merge into 14, and the first chapter may or may not split into two once I begin major revisions.

I'm trying not to get wrapped up in word counts and just let the story pace me, but it's good to feel like I'm moving forward. I'd like to see the story finished and maybe the first revision completed within 3 months.

I've decided to take two days off a week to write this year, and yesterday was my first writing day. I got off to a slow start, only doing a few silly poems for exercise. But taking a walk with the dog got the creative juices flowing again, so I came home and managed 800 words on my WIP plus another couple of poems for fun.

Only 439 this morning, but I finally ended chapter 13. I'm going to have to dig my outlines out later, and incorporate some changes from the unexpected twists, but that's a good thing, right?

Wrote about a page last night and also plotted out the challenge piece. I should have time to write it tonight.

wow - had an absolutely grueling, drama filled day, and never left the house. Ever have one of those days?

yet another job interview lined up tomorrow for the perpetually unemployed Captain Howdy

and without further ado, 764 brand spanking new words for Wednesday!

Captain good luck on the interview!

And you've all inspired me. Yesterday between packing, child-caring, husband-caring, teaching two classes, and laundry, I managed SIXTY words in the WIP. (Who snickered back there? I heard that.)

Well, it may not be much but it's the first words I've put to this WIP in months. And the MC picked up and loaded a gun to go after his wife, so it at least sounds promising...

Yay on the restart, heyjude! It wasn't me snickering. Honest.

Good luck on the interview, Captain.

646 for me this morning. I just moved my sidekick in next door to my protag. That'll come in handy later.

No snickering here. I wrote two and a half pages on my challenge piece last night, and that was the first writing I've accomplished in weeks. New year, time to get back into the habit of writing.

About 600 tonight. Fighting my way through a section that isn't coming together right yet.

Star to the right and straight on till morning.
I've been editing. I lose 500 words, get them back. Lose 250 and get back 300. You know how it goes. So it's next to impossible to say just how many I have written and kept. But I was at 65,000 went down to 60,000 and now I'm up to 61,000 give or take a few. So I think that's progress.

500 today and I had to dig them out of my brain with a rusty pick axe (ouch!). I wrote in the evening, not at my normal time and it was hard... getting up early in the morning sucks but it is the ONLY time I get anything constructive done. New goal - to get to 40,000 by next week. Hmm, I've written it down now so I have to do it :D

Nice numbers all over the board here. Good going guys!
I'm struggling with insomnia at the moment, which turns my brain to mush. Thus, no new words for me.

Hey, any time you're working it's progress Cassiopeia!

Unless you're me... Twelve words today. Twelve measly lousy words. Not even interesting words. But a bunch of boxes packed!
