Horserider - you shouldn't have any problem getting into SYW (at least as far as I know) Just enter the password that's provided when you get to that screen.

I know, but unfortunately my computer doesn't seem to be able to grasp the concept. It doesn't work and we can't figure out exactly why.

Horserider, don't let that stop you from entering. If need be, I'll PM you the entries instead of just a post number.

Is it all right to submit something that you know needs work but after 10 years, you just can't figure out for yourself *what*?

I have been out of the entire writing process for eight years now & trying to start up again, I find myself very rusty.

Thanks very much for doing this -

cheers
BB

Bugboy, absolutely! That's one exceptional reason to get a beta reader in the first place.

Thanks. I have one that I definitely know I'd like to enter and I'm trying to figure out if I have time to read 9 so that I can submit 3...no i'll probably just submit two.

Thank you, Katiemac & Puma (I can't throw out or burn 10 years' worth of work!). Everyone on this site is so helpful I almost feel like crying.... very much appreciated.

Hi Carlotta - Welcome to AW and SYW. It's good to see you're interested in the beta challenge, but, if you notice, no one else has posted their entry in this thread. The entries are supposed to be sent to Katiemac in a pm. Please go back and read Katiemac's posts at the beginning of this thread and find out how to make the entry properly - otherwise, you'll miss out on the challenge. Puma

Hi Carlotta - I know you've figured out the pm and I think you'll be able to find the edit box to take your post out without too much problem. So now you should be in good shape and ready to wait for someone(s) to read your submission. Glad to have you join in. Puma

W00T! Get the last few in and we can start critiquing each others work...

I'm really excited about this...it should be interesting, to say the least.

So am I! I didn't get the chance to decide if I was going to enter my other novel, but oh well too late now. It's not even close to being finished anyway.

Katie, have you replied to everyone who entered yet? I haven't gotten a reply, and was wondering if I needed to resubmit.

Remember, the cut off date is tomorrow. So, I figured that she'd start going through them tomorrow, since there may be last minute submissions. :D

Yes, but originally she said she was going to send us PMs saying she got our entries--that's what I think Kryianna is asking about

I was wondering too, bit paranoid about being left out. I imagine Katie is mega busy though so if we don't hear from her, to assume we're in? I hope so!

Nope, I haven't had a chance to send those "I received yours" PMs yet. I'm about to start doing that now, though.

So all of you are aware, we've got A LOT of submissions this year! More than double what we had last time ... I haven't done a count in a few days but we might be at triple what we had before.

I also have some unexpected real-world plans tomorrow, so I might not getting to sending you your critique numbers until the 6th or even 7th. Like I promised upthread, though, you'll still have a full two weeks to work on the critiques.

And now, because I have been terribly slow about this ...

Prizes!!

Everyone who successfully completes their three critiques and turns them back to me by the deadline will be entered in a raffle for the following PRIZES:

1. A bigger PM box and avatar, with nifty user title and the ability to change Rolling Thunder's location for 24 hours (or maybe days ...)

2. Books published by AW authors and a nifty B&N (or Borders) gift certificate

3. AW Goodie bag from Dawno's Cafe Press store with AW logo items

Get those last submissions in! :D

Okay, I have responded to everyone's beta form. If you did not get a confirmation from me, send me a PM and we'll make sure I have it.

Not too late to send in new submissions, either! Keep them up. :D

Thanks again, Katie, for doing such a massive job... and thanks in advance to the writers who've gotten involved.... we who are about to die, salute you! Well, maybe not *die* so much as face re-writes....

Respect,
BB

Is it sad that I'm more excited about #2 and #3 than I am about #1?
