Any power metal fans around?

isleptwithafairy. Did Helloween and Gamma Ray make it down your way this year? Saw them together in January and it was a really good show. Also from your list, I saw Firewind a week and a half ago.

The metal cookies are the coolest things I have ever seen.

Nightwish definitely qualifies as Power Metal, but it is most of the time considered Gothic Metal (another really good band of Gothic is After Forever).

Rhapsody (now called Rhapsody Of Fire) is pretty much THE Power Metal band of all times, you cannot be more epic than them.

Sonata Arctica is awesome as well, they rock live!

Helloween is great as well. If you're a fan of the genre, you don't want to miss the band Edguy, a german Power Metal band that is sick. There's also Gamma Ray who is popular among the fans.

On a personal note though, I'm not into Power Metal anymore. I used to 3-4 years ago, my band at the time used to play only that kind of music (we even composed 2 songs that are Power Metal-ish). But I'm into something way better now, Progressive Metal.

K. Apparently I am not familiar with power metal. I'll stick to thrash and death.
