I have to admit, I am having a difficult time locating erotica publishers that publish something other than "red book" style erotica.
I wouldn't say that the style I use is tame but it's not as...well, blatent as some authors.
Any how, I am trying to find urban fantasy agents/publishers that are open to erotica mixed in with the genre...
I have researched a couple of agencies and publisher and even purchased books that they have represented/published and I just don't find my own style fitting into what they have recently backed.

I guess my question is this. Is there a list anywhere dedicated to "erotica" agents/publishers that I can look at without having to wade through all the agents/publishers who don't do the genre?

Thank you

P.s.

I have looked at publishers who publish what I like. However they do not accept unsolicited queries and it seems that the agents to those individuals who are published by these companies only consider referrals from their current authors.

Erotica specific lists tend to be more in the slap and tickle for men sub-genre and don't really have a bead on your genre. Perhaps if you suggests publishers you thought of but can't submit to we could come up with others that are similar.

Two that come to mind are Signet and Ballantine, there are others, the list is very long, but those are the two at the top of my head.

Is there a reason you don't want to get the agent required for your work to be seen by the publishing houses that seem like the best fit?

I would gladly get an agent, if I could find one that represented the genre and did not require that you be referred to them by one of their current authors.
Of course I have been looking at agents that represent authors that I like, so that might be a little overly optimistic of me. ;)

Have you looked at Black Lace? They have an excellent website with a lot of information and submission guidelines.

I'd look at fantasy agents as well. A lot of uf--even most uf--has erotic elements.

Thank you,

This is actually the turn I have recently taken. I am still having a hard time finding agents that specifically list "urban fantasy" most seem to list as fantasy only.
I realize a big part of my problem is that I am sticking mostly too the Writer's Market and not using more modern sources such as the internet. I have started using the internet as a source now more than before but it's hard for me to give up that "paper" contact.

This is a good starting point, a resource for all kinds of erotica.

As for relying on paper-printed market resources, those are months or years behind the times by the time they hit the bookstores. My feeling is, if you want to be a professional writer, you need to be web-savvy and agile.

Especially in the genre markets. FWIW.

If they say "fantasy", chances are extremely good they're interested in urban fantasy. It won't hurt to try, right?

Yes, and that's what I am hoping for. I just sent out a query to one publisher and got a response from an agent on my query requesting a synopsis and some sample chapters.
Keeping my fingers crossed ;)
