Getting around this site

If you go to any of the forums and want to start a new topic, page down to the bottom and over to the left you will see a button for "New Thread". Click that, add a title for your thread, and enter your message. But . . . maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, since you've just started a new thread with your post.

With Search, you have to be as specific as you can. For example, it wouldn't help much to search for "book" since the word "book" is going to occur in just about every thread here. You might also want to try the "Advanced Search" and see if that helps you to find what you're looking for.

Oh, I think I see what you're asking now. If you want to start a new topic about a particular subject, find the forum that's the "best fit" for your type of question and start a new thread. For example, if you want to ask a question about novels, find the Novels forum and post your question there.

Using the advanced search has really helped me when I'm looking for something. It took a while to figure out I could narrow the search to 'posts' and not just 'threads' too.

Our resident genius is the "battery" when you need something in particular. If you can't find it just holler

It takes a while. Going to the cooler helps to find topic threads.

Hi DianeP, welcome to AW.
