Dyson vacuum cleaners. We got one and it sucks up everything. So much nicer than our last one. I highly suggest everyone get one. It even picks up dog hair well.

And the price! For $600 I could get a slightly beat up used car.

Which model do you have? I saw they had a compact size and wondered whether that worked as well as the full-sized one.

My vaccuum really sucks. It's only useful for chasing the cat around the room.

:Shrug:Not sure. It's purple. That's about all I know off the top of my head. My wife is usually the one who uses it. (not because I'm a jerk who makes her do the housework but because she says I do such a piss-poor job of it, she'd may as well do it to begin with.)

The woman is honest, no bones about it.

I've wanted one of those for a long time. Someday, maybe, when/if we can afford one.

Ah, I think the purple one is the Dyson Animal (extra suction for pet hair). I'll have to look into this further!

I'm loyal to Miele. I can't help it. German engineering will always rock my socks off. They make the perfect vacuum.

Is it better than the Oreck? I know someone who has an Oreck, and that thing sucks up dog hair from a foot away. You can just put it in the middle of the room and turn it on.

I sit and read this thread while the soothing strains of our Roomba reverberate in the background, suck, suck, sucking while I relax. I love that damn thing. It cost a lot ($300, though I've since seen them for less at Costco) but with four hairy pets, it's essential.

We have the purple Dyson too, but we bought it refurbed online, and it was only about $350. I'll never have another vacuum cleaner again. I have to vacuum every other day because of pet hair, and it slurps up EVERYTHING. It's amazing.

If you've ever considered getting one, spend the money. It's worth it.

We're stopping by Sears to pick our's up tonight.

We had borrowed our mother-in-law's Dyson a while back and it was amazing. Cleaned things I didn't think could ever be clean again (dalmatian hair in the furniture). Our Hoover is going out on the curb and our Oreck Quickstick was the biggest waste of money ever.

The Dyson is well worth the money. No filters to replace. No bags. And it comes with a 5 year warranty. No one else gives that.

I looked at one of those, but I didn't know what would make it not fall down the steps. Plus, I wasn't inclined to pay that much for a dog chew, which is what would happen if we left that thing alone with our dog.

Besides, it wouldn't fit under the couch which is where all the dirt is anyway.
