I'm reading THE HOLLOW by Nora Roberts. Sequels and cliffhangers is there a better way to hook a reader? The book is great, btw, half way through and I'm still not dissapointed, which means of course I'll have to by the third and last book when it comes out.

Just finished "Gilead" by Marilyn Robinson. Highly original, it unexpectedly moved me, though her prose wasn't quite as lyrical as in "Housekeeping". A very interesting writer.

A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck. Another foray into YA-ville.

Obedience was quite good and I recommend it.

In school we're reading Animal Farm, by George Orwell. I love it!

Cardiphonia (misc. correspondence of John Newton). I read his biography earlier this month and really admire the man.

I just finished Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson. I heard The Nights in Radanthe by Nicholas Sparks was going to be a movie coming out in October. So, I'm reading that right now. Both are good.

I just read Wake by Lisa McMann in one sitting. Interesting premise, fun read.

I finished Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill less than an hour ago (checked it out after reading about it on this thread) have to agree with previous posters-great book! Full of unforgettable characters and a "new" twist on hauntings.

I've just finished "Equal Rites" by Terry Pratchett, now I'm probably going to go onto "Faust Eric." Slowly working my way through the whole Discworld series. :)

Ooh, Manderley, I LOVED The Poisonwood Bible. I remember reading an interview with BK where she said that she actually wrote the WHOLE book 5 times, once from each of the 5 perspectives before picking and choosing which character would tell which part of the book. Can you imagine?
